Pure Abandon

The grasshopper knows how to celebrate!

While white clouds glide across a sky of sapphire blue
And golden leaves float gently to the ground;

As the earthen trail is warmed by afternoon sun,
These long legged pranksters
Abandon their grass houses, run wild into the streets, and…
Dance!

Leaping with great abandon
Sometimes sideways, almost backward,
They fling themselves through the sunlit silence that is
Laced with a gentle rat-a-tat-tat of a hidden sister winged thing,
Sharing purple flowers that sway in the gentle breeze,
With soft yellow butterflies and bees that look like fairies.

Everything here
Dancing.
Everything offering itself completely
To the Infinity
In this season of letting go
And letting come.
